The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) is a public research university located in Kansas City, Missouri. Established in 1929, UMKC is a member of the University of Missouri System and is classified as a Carnegie Research University (high research activity). UMKC offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs through its five colleges. The university is home to over 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and has a faculty of more than 700. UMKC fields teams in a variety of sports, including basketball, soccer, and tennis.
