Proof that you have already received your undergraduate diploma is required in order to apply to master’s/graduate level.
We can no longer accept graduate level (Masters or PhD) psychology students.

LANGUAGE TEST CERTIFICATE REQUIRED? IF SO, WHICH AND WHEN: BEFORE ADMISSION OR UPON ARRIVAL?
n most cases, TOEFL test score required: result (minimum score of 500 (61 IBT) for undergraduates, 550 (79 IBT) for graduate; the IELTS may also be accepted (5.5 undergraduate; 6.0 Grad).
Upon arrival at UMKC, you may take an English proficiency test at UMKC's Applied Language Institute (ALI) which may require you to take an English class. Please inquire for further details. Anyone below a 600/100 TOEFL, or a 6.5 IELTS will still test at the ALI to determine readiness.
PREPARATORY LANGUAGE COURSE FOR INCOMING STUDENTS? DATES AND COSTS?
Intensive English courses available during semester as required. There is no extra charge but it would count toward your credit maximum.

HOUSING
Not charged by month but by semester only: Approximately $4,375 per semester, on campus Oak Place Apartments with no meal plan (price will depend on exact option chosen).
MEALS
$400-600 per semester (depending on lifestyle and how often you eat in restaurants).
BOOKS/COURSE MATERIALS
About $600 per semester (it’s not a monthly charge since books must be purchased at beginning of semester – in U.S., textbooks are not available in library).
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
Kansas City Metro bus pass is free with UMKC student ID (about $25 per month other for taxis/Uber).
HEALTH INSURANCE
Mandatory (unless you submit a waiver and it is approved): Approximately $730 per semester (note that these are not exact amounts, only estimates of what we expect rates will be in 2018-19).
OTHER
$80 per semester International Student Affairs Office (ISAO) international student fee.
$50 processing fee for International Academic Programs (IAP) online exchange application.

Please note: Off-campus housing difficult to find and we are unable to provide assistance.

Students apply for housing and submit it online with other application materials by application deadline (IAP will reserve your space).

Yes, but only possible after completion of one full academic semester at UMKC - arranged on individual basis.
ARE STUDENT JOBS AVAILABLE/ALLOWED?
Yes (on campus jobs only - up to 20 hour per week).
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Students should arrive in Kansas City on the OPA move in dates, on or before 14 August for Fall (8 January for Spring). You may request an Uber (from app on your phone) upon arrival, or book another ground transport service. Either will drop you at Oak Place Apartments at 5050 Oak Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64112.
Students will have access to campus recreation center, computer labs, libraries, etc. once they receive their UMKC student ID card.
